Project Management

UK Flood Barriers has a reputation for thoroughness. We understand flexibility is key and a ‘one size fits all’ simply doesn’t work. We tailor our project management services to dovetail in line with the client – be it the Environment Agency, a local authority or a contractor. With round the clock access to sister company, UKFB Internationals’ design team; UK Flood Barriers is also able to call upon their expertise when a specialist solution is needed.

We work hard to develop mutually beneficial works programmes, communication processes and reporting procedures - and work even harder to deliver what we promise.

All projects, whatever the size, will be approached in a similarly professional manner with roles and responsibilities clearly stated and reporting and communication processes defined.

Our Contracts Team is highly experienced in the delivery of multiple, high profile projects at any one time, often involving several hundreds of properties across each scheme. With this experience under our belts, clients can be confident their project will be managed efficiently and effectively at every stage of the process.

Client Liaison

Regular contract progress meetings are always recommended with the client to communicate progress and discuss any variations to the programme. Again this will be agreed on an individual basis with each client subject to their requirements.

Our experience of delivering PLP contracts has shown that early stage engagement with local residents usually helps to ensure a smoother running contract.

We can assist in arranging a pre-start event with the community to help manage their expectations of the delivery phase of a project contract and can hold engagement events/meetings throughout the contract as appropriate.

Client Progress Reporting

Effective communication is the key to a successful contract. UK Flood Barriers has extensive experience and a strong track record in delivering PLP schemes, successfully managing the expectations of the householder, the lead client/ authority and its chosen consultants.

Tailored ‘two way’ communication processes between us, the lead client and all other contractors involved will be agreed from the outset enabling efficient and effective progress reporting.

UK Flood Barriers will identify a single point of contact and all communication with the client and/or main contractors will be managed by though this individual (supported by the Site & Head Office teams as appropriate).

Householder Communication

We appreciate the importance of timely and accurate communication with homeowners and will work with our clients to develop comprehensive communication programmes to keep everyone appropriately engaged.

A full range of communication channels – letter, email & telephone - will be adopted to ensure the contract is delivered smoothly.

Householders will have one point of contact on our projects. This helps maintain strong and effective lines of communication between all project stakeholders.

For added householder peace of mind we will maintain a visible presence within the community the duration of the project.

Once a householder has had their flood defence measures installed and a Completion Statement has been signed, they will be provided with a Homeowner Guide.

The Homeowner Guide includes a complete overview of all products installed in a property, deployment instructions, and advice on maintenance intervals and warranties.

Ongoing Customer Care

We place great emphasis on on-going customer after care. Although comprehensive onsite training will have been undertaken upon completion, our Customer Service team is on hand to answer any questions homeowners may have on storage, deployment, maintenance or warranties.
